Lincoln was born Feb. 25th, 2016. He has a big sister Sophia(7)and a big brother Lucas(2) He was a happy, healthy, little boy. When he was 4 months old, on July 2nd, he was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid leukemia, the actual subtype is an M6 called pure erythroid leukemia. He has been fighting his battle fearlessly. He has his rough days, but he has been an inspiration to everyone around here at the University of Iowa Children’s Hospital in Iowa City, Ia.
We just finished the 3rd round of Chemotherapy now and hoping to see his blood counts come back and deliver the news that he is in remission. Then they would move forward with a bone marrow transplant. His brother Lucas is a full match and would be our super hero and marrow donor.
His form of Leukemia has been extremely aggressive and resistant to treatment in the first and second round of chemo. Hoping for better news as he is finished with his third round now, 7 months old, and waiting for his counts to recover. Hopes are that he’s in remission this time so that we can move forward with his treatment plan.
This whole situation has taken quite the toll on our whole family.
